Costa Rica Hermosa Luxury Living with Amazing Ocean Views

Hermosa Costa Rica Real Estate At Its Best!

Hermosa Hills in Costa Rica is the area located above Playa Hermosa which includes the mountain known as Cero Fresco. We generally refer to Hermosa Hills as the collection of unique, individual properties located near each other.

Surround yourself with Costa Rica's natural beauty — gentle Hermosa mountaintop breezes, mesmerizing views of the Pacific Ocean, lush vegetation and abundant wildlife, nature trails, waterfalls, hiking and mountain biking — all from this carefully planned, eco-friendly, biological reserve community. Check in at your office on high-speed internet, relax on your terrace, watch the world below or walk the nature trails spotting monkeys and toucans — just a few of the real estate offerings this secluded, area has to offer.

Down at sea level, only a couple miles away is Playa Hermosa, known for its natural beaches, world famous surfing
and open air restaurants. Five minutes North is award winning Jaco Beach with its shopping and grocery stores, numerous restaraunts, bars, night life and casinos. Another ten minutes North is Los Suenos Resort (with Central Americas finest marina, gourmet restaurants, shops and expert level golf course).

Testimonials: "Heaven on earth. I have never seen anything like it!"

"Quality, views, nature and location made Hermosa Hills our number one choice and was second to no other!"

"We can't wait to get home to tell our friends and family about Hermosa Hills. Only problem is that our pictures won't demonstrate its beauty."

"I wouldn't want to retire in any other location. This is amazing!"

"I came for the beach, but this blows the beach away! I will drive the 5 minutes to the beach"

"Better temperatures than the beach. Better views than the beach. Better location than the beach. More quiet than the beach. More private than the beach. More beautiful than the beach. Better prices than the beach. Great location. I am amazed. I never knew anything like this existed. I am sold!"

"We have adopted Ollie. My kids love him and want to take him home. When we come to visit, our first stop is to say hello to Ollie."  Note - Ollie is a white-faced monkey that was recued by the security guards after his mother died. He lives near the main guard shack and is a tourist attraction for many (he loves to play). Ollie is not tied up or restrained and is free to go whenever he decides to leave. In the mean time, he is part of the Hermosa Hills family - our mascot of sorts.

"The hypnotic state Hermosa Hills puts you in will lower your blood pressure and erase any negative thoughts or stress you came with - all within about 10 minutes. This is the most beautiful place I have ever seen!"

"Why didn't I find this sooner? I would have purchased here before buying at the beach - no question (and I am a beach person)."

"I understand why the natives called it Cerro Fresco! There is always a gentle, comfortable breeze."

"We loved seeing the toucans (two kinds) and parrots (green and red). We only have these birds in pet stores! How majestic and beautiful they are - and they live in our nature reserve. This is so exciting!"

I am amazed at the killer workout I get mountain biking here. The mountains are beautiful, the soil is rich. This is some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen! The Route of the Conquistadores is my goal.

"Your website does this property no justice whatsoever. Amazing!"

"It's closer than I imagined and I like the short drive. It is so beautiful!"

"There is a little adventure mixed in, which is why we came to Costa Rica. Please don't tell our friends how convenient this place is - we don't want a bunch of house guests!

"Love the waterfalls and the monkeys were amazing also! I don't need to go back to Manual Antonio Park - I have everything right here - and it is private!"

"The prices are too low. After we close on our unit, you should raise them to reflect the real value!"

"Truly Heavenly! Words nor pictures can describe how perfect is this paradise."

"I don't want to leave here - ever! Really! I'm not joking. Wow!"

A Success Story: “We looked at many properties, but something was “always missing”. Until the day he took us to Hermosa Hills. Once at the site, the first words out of our mouths were “This is exactly what we were looking for, it’s perfect”! The beautiful views of the ocean, mountains, valleys and rainforest. We also liked the fact that the developer is working in harmony with nature, preserving much of the land and protecting the wildlife on the reserve. Now we can vacation in our new home until we permanently move.” (read the testimonial in its entirety)

A Realtor's Perspective: "When I first met with Rich Hokanson in mid January this year, he was well in to the process of researching real estate in the Jacó area and trying to get a grasp on the market. Rich had never been to Costa Rica, but for several months he researched various projects through internet resources and began planning a trip to Jacó. Rich knew what he was looking for, but was surprised to find it so quickly.
After taking some time to become acquainted with the Jacó area, I told Rich I wanted to show him the best views in the area. Rich had already researched Hermosa Hills through their web site, and at first glance of their web page, he felt that it wasn’t exactly what he was looking for. During the quick drive from Jacó to Hermosa, I remember Rich saying “It isn’t what I’m looking for, but let’s go take a look anyways.” Well, as the saying goes, the picture didn’t do it justice. This was truly the case with Hermosa Hills. Before arriving at the project site, the views had already cast their spell on Rich, and he was beginning to change his mind as we stopped on the side of the road near the project to take pictures of down town Jacó from a bird’s eye view. On a clear day, panoramic ocean views from Hermosa Hills extend as far south as Manuel Antonio!
Upon arriving at the project site, we spent a few moments in the model estate home to get a first hand look at the finishings and construction quality. Rich, who is an experienced wood worker and knows quality when he sees it, was pleasantly surprised with the level of craftsmanship and overall attention to detail. Since he is not a condo type of guy, we had come to Hermosa Hills to look at some of the single family home lots that had just been released for sale. As we walked from the model house to the lots, we saw Toucans flying about in the afternoon sun and even saw a few monkeys jumping from tree to tree. Once on the lot, Rich looked at me and said, “I know what my wife likes, and she is going to love this view."
There are several things that make Hermosa Hills special; it is a dynamic project with a tremendous location. Whether it is the bungalows, condominiums, or lots for single family and estate homes, it seems the project has something for everyone. The elevation affords the luxury of the constant ocean breeze and a slightly cooler climate, but you are never more than a few moments away from the action of Jacó and Hermosa. Rich was immediately drawn to the project for these obvious reasons, but the development team associated with the project made an impression on him as well.
The builder/developer has a unique passion for the environment that has been incorporated into the development. All of the single family homes are designed around the topography of the land to minimize their impact on the surrounding environment. To further minimize the impact of construction, the development team decided to use helical anchor systems for the foundations. Helical anchor systems are commonly used in luxury custom homes in the San Francisco Bay Area, but this is the first time the technology has been used in Costa Rica. The anchor systems minimize impact by literally screwing the foundation of the home into the bedrock 30 feet below the surface.

The developer initially made a name for himself as one of the lead builders in the renowned Los Sueños development, but decided to change gears once he had an opportunity to get Hermosa Hills started. In a recent conversation, he explained that he searched up and down the Central Pacific Coast, looking for the perfect place to do an upscale project. As soon as he saw the prominent ridge line that forms the amphitheater in the mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean above Playa Hermosa, he knew he had found exactly what he was looking for. Rich also found exactly what he was looking for, and like the developer, knew he had found something special the moment he laid his eyes on Hermosa Hills. The final preparations are being made to begin construction on Rich’s home, which should be completed by this coming November. In the mean time, Hermosa Hills continues to establish its name as the premier luxury development in the hills, while the breath taking ocean views continue mesmerize everyone who sees it with their own eyes. Why Hermosa Hills? We have been considering purchasing a second home for a few years now.  We were unsure of where we would like to go.  We have had opportunities to invest with people we know from the big island of Hawaii, considered Turks and Cacos (if they were uniting with Canada), and then of course there is Florida where all the 'snow birds' go.  Hawaii seemed so far away and very expensive, Turks and Cacos didn't happen, and well Florida has the weather and is close for us, it just isn't sub tropical.  Not to mention the cost of living and the taxes are insane!  I had attended a real estate seminar a couple of years ago, and they talked about Hawaii and Costa Rica as investment countries.  We had never been to Costa Rica, and were sceptical about visiting and possibly spending alot of money in a foreign country. The drive from San Jose to Jaco erased any sceptism.  We fell in love with the scenary, which reminded us much of our favorite destination, Maui.  Once arriving in Jaco it was evident that this quaint little town has been busy expanding, building new condos, hotels, golf courses, etc.  We were very sceptical about dealing with real estate agents and lawyers in a different country, but were lucky to have Ken at Ocean Side Realty recommended to us by a couple of different people we know in Canada.  He was very helpful, patient and tactful.  We viewed many homes in and around Jaco and loved each one for different reasons, taking into consideration our price range.  Each  home was unique, and the surroundings beautiful.  It wasn't until Ken took us for a short ride up the mountain to see Hermosa Hills.
This was the place!  We bought a beautiful bungalow in the middle of the jungle!  The quality of the homes seemed to be far superior to some of the others we had viewed.  Finishings in teak, granite and porcelain.  And the view, if nothing else the view is worth a million dollars!  We overlook the ocean and own a piece of the rainforest!  We are very excited to be a  part of this project and have had the opportunity to follow the  progress of the builders.  The first unit to be finished is beautiful, and we can't wait to have ours.  If we were asked to compare our new home in Hermosa Hills to the homes closer to the beach, what can we say, we have the beach at our feet, and the beauty of the rain forest surrounding us.  We have the convenience of town only ten minutes away, and the tranquility of nature in our yard.  Paradise!  And did we mention the cost of living and taxes are more than reasonable We would recommend this area to anyone considering a second home, retirement home, or investment opportunity.  Words cannot descibe how ecstatic we are about owning a piece of the rain forest, and being part of a unique community in a sub tropical paradise...Hermosa Hills.
Truly,

Full Testimonial From Above: Eight years ago when my husband asked me to marry him, he was living in Central New York, where I was also raised, but at that time, I was living in Miami Beach, Florida. Since he operates his own business and I am a Registered Nurse, he asked me to move back to New York. He promised me that when we retired he would take me back to someplace tropical to live.

The first year of marriage we vacationed in Costa Rica, driving throughout the country, enjoying the beauty of it and also the friendliness of the people. Every year afterwards we vacationed in places like Mexico, The Caribbean Islands, and other countries in Central America, Hawaii, The Tahitian Islands and New Zealand. Although all of those places were nice, we always loved Costa Rica the most! We decided Costa Rica was the place where we wanted to retire and live. We researched the country, eventually going back and hired a real estate agent to show us properties on the western Pacific coast. We looked at many properties, but something was “always missing”. Until the day he took us to The Hermosa Hills Residential Development and Biological Reserve.

Well, my husband kept his promise and we are planning to retire in about five years and moving into our new bungalow, that we purchased this year and is being built at this time. Now we can vacation in our new home until we permanently move. So to remind myself of how beautiful it is there, I went to the length of having the Hermosa Hills logo tattooed on my inner forearm, so daily, I can look at it and know that we will soon be living in paradise!
